MACULAR HOLE – SHOULD YOU TREAT IT ?

Macula is part of the retina which is responsible for central vision. A hole occurs
when the cells at the macula get separated and pull away from the centre. This can
cause vision loss. The vision reduces and becomes blurry and distorted. The details
on objects are not clear. A black spot may occur in the center of vision.

Treatment
When the hole is small and there is no disruption of vision macular holes can be left
untreated.
When the vision starts deteriorating, and the macular hole enlarges, the macular
